"The world is a crazy place."
"Things can't always be perfect, you have to take the good with the bad."
"I don't have what it takes to get what I really want."
For most people, life is one gigantic story - made up of beliefs, opinions, hopes, dreams, theories, and the like. And whether you're consciously aware of it or not, everything you have in your life right now is a precise match to the story you've been telling yourself.
So what are your beliefs? Take some time to consider this, because I'm betting you aren't completely aware of how your beliefs are running (I said running, not ruining!) your life - and how obediently you've allowed this to occur.
I've written it before, but a belief is simply that - a belief. Your beliefs aren't 'right', many of them aren't even true - and some of the most critical ones are often limiting. For many of us, beliefs provide a means to compartmentalize and make sense of the 'crazy' world we perceive.
The key to a fulfilled life is knowing that you create every one of your beliefs. So why then do most of us choose (there's that word again) holding tight to the limiting kind, rather than those which would empower us to get where we wanted? For some people, limiting beliefs serve as a convenient excuse - if you believe you can't have, do, or be something, there's no use trying because you'll end up failing anyway. Wouldn't it be fabulous though to turn that around - creating a belief that you CAN have, do, or be something - so from the moment you embark, it's already predetermined you'll succeed!
Which sounds like the better road to you?
One great tool to stop limiting beliefs in their tracks is to catch yourself whenever you think, say, or feel anything negative - then ask yourself 'Says who?' For example, "I can't earn a living doing something I love." Says who? "I'll never weigh what I did when I was twenty." Says who? "It's hard to find a relationship with someone who has everything I'm looking for." Says WHO?
Are the lights starting to come on yet? The answer to every 'Says who?' question is the same - says YOU! You get to imagine, create, and authorize everything that happens in your life. As Neale Donald Walsch says, "Your life will be what you create it as..." So it's up to you to choose what will happen, what your life will become. It's time to give up being powerless, and begin taking responsibility for everything that shows up.
Remember, you're the only keeper of your 'Belief Checklist' - and you're the one who keeps checking 'OK' to everything you don't like about your life. Wouldn't it be wonderful to rewrite your list? Then you can point proudly to yourself and declare, "It's ME! I'm the one who created this phenomenal life!" (instead of blaming others for your own faulty belief/manifesting system)
Attracting what you want is all about vibrations. To consistently create positive vibes, you need only choose good feelings more often. When you feel good, The Universe has no other choice but to give you more of the same. And that's a good thing. Says who? Says me. And hopefully, says you too!
Until next time...
With love,
-Jeff
